![]() ![]() The interior, piece by piece, has been completely remodeled since the dealership moved to its current location at 2699 47th Ave. Yoder said they’re always working to keep fresh at Weld County Garage, updating everything from salespeople’s chairs a couple weeks ago to installing solar panels on the roof a couple months ago. In 1982, Lee Yoder, Chase’s grandfather, and two other partners purchased Weld County Garage from the third generation of the McArthur family. McArthur sold horses and buggies at the Weld County Garage. But the Weld County Garage history stretches back seven years further, when D.R. Weld County Garage started a car dealership in 1908, selling Buicks. Running through the whole business, and spending a couple years in each position, Yoder said he gets to know what it’s like for the people he hopes to oversee. After selling cars for a few years, Yoder became a service advisor, a finance manager and a used car manager before reaching his desk today as general sales manager. To prepare for that eventuality, Yoder said he’s been following the path his dad, Warren, took before becoming dealer principal. Now I’ve got these big shoes to fill … when my day comes,” Yoder said. My dad’s done a lot of great thing when he’s ran it. “My grandpa did a lot of great things when he ran it. On top of that, Yoder said that journey will help him make the dealership his own. ![]() That’s when he started to realize he had a passion of his own for the business. He had planned to find something else, but he ended up liking selling cars so much, he would ditch class to sell cars. As he entered college, he started selling cars. Yoder started working part-time at the dealership in 2008 as a lot tech, washing vehicles and keeping the lot looking nice. Now the general sales manager, Yoder said he was determined at that age not to follow in his father’s footsteps, mostly because he was never one to follow the easiest path.Īge, of course, changes things. In high school, Chase Yoder saw his father’s ownership of Weld County Garage as “his thing.” ![]()
